Visitors can see tropical birds flying about the rainforest, a crocodile in the pond, a falconry display and endangered species in the zoo. |
| Dinosaur Isle, Sandown, Isle of Wight, 01983 404344 The Isle of Wight is the most important site for dinosaur remains in Europe! In recognition of this, the first purpose built museum in Britain was built on the Isle of Wight and now displays over 1,000 fossils and dinosaur reconstructions. |

Shows are under a hemispherical dome in the darkened auditorium lasting between 25 – 40 minutes with realistic and accurate reproduction of the star-studded night sky. Science displays and computer simulations in the exhibition area. |
| The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, Wroxall, 01983 852693 The Donkey Sanctuary was established in 1987 to provide a home for donkeys in distress or need of care and attention. The sanctuary is now home to over 200 donkeys, set in 50 acres of land. |
| Waltzing Waters, Ryde, Isle of Wight, 01983 811 333 Elaborate water, light and music production with thousands of dazzling patterns produced by moving water and synchronised with music. Shows are in an auditorium and last 40 minutes. |

Fort Victoria Country Park has a variety of activities to offer visitors. The Fort was originally built on the north shore of the Isle of Wight to guard the Solent and the remains of the Fort is now home to a Martine Aquarium, Underwater Archaeology Centre, Planetarium and Model Railway – not to mention the surrounding nearly 50 acres of Country Park with seashore and woodland walks!

Seaview Wildlife Encounter conserves exotic bird species and wildlife, and is home to a diversity of rare and beautiful birds and animals. Visitors can see, learn, feed and stroke animals at close quarters. There is a daily programme of events including penguins, wallabies, meerkats, otters, the pet’s corner, flight aviary, bugs and reptiles. There are over one hundred flamingo of three different species.

Donkeys feature strongly in the history of the castle, where they worked on the tread wheel drawing water from the castle well, and today visitors can see demonstrations of the donkeys at work. The museum displays the history of the caste and their is film, hands-on weapons, interactives and a virtual tour. |

| Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Havenstreet, Isle of Wight PO33, 01983 882204 Steam railway running for five miles from Wootton to Smallbrook Junction, via Havenstreet and Ashey. All the carriages and most of the locomotives have always been Isle of Wight based, and have been restored to pristine condition. The oldest locomotive dates back to 1876, and oldest carriage back to 1864. |
