| Water Fowl Sanctuary & Children's Farm, Bloxham & Hook Norton, 01608 730252 Opened throughout the year, this sanctuary, rescue centre and children's animal farm was established in 1989 and is home to various animals including geese, ducks, bantams, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, pigs, tropical birds, emus, terrapins, ostrich, chipmunks, donkeys and many more. There is also a 'Cuddle Corner' where adults and children (with strict adult supervision), can handle baby rabbits, chicks, ducklings, kittens and new born mice and gerbils, when in season. |

| Oxford Castle Unlocked, Oxford, Oxfordshire OX1, 01865 260666 Oxford Castle dates back to 1071, when it first incarcerated people and continued to do so until HM Prison closed in 1996. The old buildings have been preserved and the stories of violence, executions, escapes and betrayal, can now be told. 11th February Bugs Alive! From Saturday the 11th to Sunday the 19th of February, Oxford Castle Unlocked will be hosting ‘Bugs Alive!’, a nine-day bug invasion event during half term offering mini-beast related activities that will amaze and delight kids of all ages, including up-close and hands-on encounters with fantastic creepy crawly bugs! |

The Palace has been the family home of the Churchill family for over 300 years and subsequent Dukes have made differences to the structure and gardens. Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens is set in 160 acres of parkland and gardens around a listed Victorian Manor House. The Park is home to animals from all over the world and divided into four sections, The Birds Section, including penguins and Chilean flamingos, The Primates and Small Mammals Section with mammlas such as meerkats, and short-clawed oriental otters, The Large Mammals and Farmyard Section with big cats, rhino, camels and zebra, and The Herpetology Section including the reptile and insect houses. Visitors can feed the penguins, wander the beautiful gardens, ride on the narrow-gauge railway and have fun in the adventure playground.

The Oxford Playhouse was founded in the 1920s and is today a vibrant presenting theatre. In its repertory years’ the theatre saw the likes of Sir John Gielgud, Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellen, perform on its stage. The Oxford Playhouse is now a key date on the national touring circuit, staging drama, dance, music, music theatre and children's theatre, and they are taking an active role in producing, launching and commissioning new work.

There has been a theatre on the corner of George Street for almost 170 years. The first theatre built in 1836 was known commonly as the ‘Vic’, and later as the ‘Theatre Royale’ after the company that played there. In 1972 the theatre was bought by the provincial theatre chain Howard and Wyndham, and in 1977 Apollo Leisure took over the lease of the theatre renaming it ‘The Apollo.’ Apollo Leisure were bought out by SFX in 1999, followed by Clear Channel Entertainment in 2001. Following a refurbishment in 2003 the theatre reverted back to the name New Theatre, with Clear Channel Entertainment's theatre division becoming Live Nation two years later. Audiences at the theatre can once again see leading opera and ballet companies, from Welsh National Opera to the English National Ballet, contemporary dance, hit musicals like Chicago and Guys and Dolls, and of course sell-out pop concerts. The venue’s current capacity is 1,800 and the building is not listed. The New Theatre has public bars, where visitors can enjoy pre-theatre and interval drinks. The bars a typically open one hour prior to show time.
