The Needles, Alum Bay, 0870 4580022

The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse are the island's most famous landmark, and there are a variety of attractions to see including live glass sculpture demonstrations, the sand shop with up to 21 shades of sand, sweet factory where you watch the sweets being made, 9-hole golf course and boat rides to see the Needles.

The Isle of Wight is the most important site for dinosaur remains in Europe! In recognition of this, the first purpose built museum in Britain was built on the Isle of Wight and now displays over 1,000 fossils and dinosaur reconstructions. 

Godshill Model Village, Godshill, 01983 840270

Model villages of the local villages on the Isle of Wight of Godshill and Shanklin, to a 1/10 scale.  Models of pubs, churches, the airfield, 2,500 conifers and shrubs.  The tour of the model village takes around 45 mintues.
Brickfields Horse Country, Binstead Ryde, 01983 566801

A complete selection of horses and ponies can found at Brickfields, these include miniature Shetland ponies, which do not grow any bigger than 34 inches, donkeys, miniature jack donkey, and jenny donkeys, a mule, shire horses and thoroughbred horses.  In addition, there are an array of farm animals, and during the high season six or seven pigs race in Porkers Paradise!  There is also a museum with carriages and radios.

Carisbrooke Castle, Nr Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30, 01983 522107

Enjoy 800 years of history at Carisbrooke Castle and learn about the castle's most famous resident, Charles I who was imprisoned in the castle between 1647-1648. An attempt at escape was only foiled when Charles I became wedged in the window bars!  Learn how the castle was first a home, then a prison and a fortress for the island.  Donkeys feature strongly in the history of the castle, where they worked on the tread wheel drawing water from the castle well, and today visitors can see demonstrations of the donkeys at work. The museum displays the history of the caste and their is film, hands-on weapons, interactives and a virtual tour. 

Osborne House, Isle of Wight, PO32,

Osborne House was Queen Victoria’s family holiday home and the Queen once wrote 'It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot'.  The House displays examples of Victorian opulence, extravagant interiors and stunning Indian décor of the Durbar Room. Visitors can see private apartments including the Queen’s bedroom, nursery rooms and royal bathrooms.  Visit the Swiss Cottage, which was a chalet built for the royal children with its extensive grounds and views across the Solent.  There is also the Victorian Walled Garden and hothouses containing exotic plants.
