Family Pubs in Sussex

The pubs below allow children in the pub, but this is not to say they have children's play areas or high chairs, just simply that they are children friendly!

The Griffin Inn, Fletching, Sussex, 01825 722890

The 16th century Griffin has something for most, with traditional country pub features, a nice restaurant serving good pub food, a terrace and garden, accommodation and a games room.  Features include open fires, old beams and oak panelling.  The garden has magnificent views over the countryside and there is plenty of well decorated accommodation.

Treat the one you love to an evening of Champagne, Oysters and Chocolate truffles. Five course menu for £38.50 per person.

Traditional pub, tucked away with beautiful views over the Sussex countryside, good pub food, and real ale selected from local independent breweries.  The Fox Goes Free is an attractive looking old pub built with brick and flint and dating back to the 16th century. A popular pub with the locals, it has much character including inglenook fireplaces, old pews, brick floors and beamed ceilings. The large garden makes this a very popular pub during the summer months, with extensive seating overlooking gloroius views of unspoilt countryside, as well as seating at the front of the pub. The pub is set in the beautiful countryside of Goodwood Estate at the bottom of the South Downs, ideal for walking and only about a mile from the racecourse.

The Hollist Arms is a good country pub for the locals where visitors are made very welcome!  The small rectangular bar area has  seating at the bar and at tables, and there is a separate restaurant area beside the bar with two large leather sofas beside a roaring log fire, where visitors can enjoy a drink or play one of the many board games available.  Enjoy good pub grub served by friendly staff and a very welcoming landlord, whose Grandfather invented Bovril!  In the warmer months, enjoy the garden and a terrace area.

Traditional country pub with restaurant, run by ladies! Favoured by locals, visitors, families and walkers alike, the Unicorn is know for its friendly team of staff and friendly welcome.  The large pub garden has glorious views of the downs.
