Tiggywinkles Hospital is open 24-hours a day to take in and treat sick, injured and orphaned wild casualties. Now the World’s busiest wildlife Hospital, taking in over 10,000 animals and birds every year and giving them the very best in medical treatment, before releasing them back into the wild. Tiggywinkles is a charity and treatment is free to the general public.

Visitors are more than welcome to explore the Visitor Centre. Set in the peaceful grounds of Tiggywinkles, an outdoor educational walk has been developed with the chance of meeting some of the permanent residents.

As more people are becoming aware of the wildlife around them and the problems they can get themselves into, the number of casualties arriving at Tiggywinkles Hospital is escalating. The hospital is therefore delighted that they have somewhere that the general public can wander around and learn about the specialist wildlife care available only at Tiggywinkles. With the aid of education boards, CCTV and a glimpse at some of the permanent disabled residents, Tigglywinkles hope to teach others how to preserve British Wildlife for years to come.

All the residents in the Visitor Centre are permanent due to disability and would not survive if released back to the wild, therefore they are very happy to live their lives in the safe, supervised surroundings of the hospital grounds.

The Hedgehog Memorabilia Museum is a mass of hedgehog history viewing the many way in which hedgehogs have influenced us over the years from Egyptian time to present day. This amazing site is suitable for all ages.

The baby bird and baby mammal viewing area : This is a seasonal section of the Visitor Centre during spring and summer where you can watch the dedicated staff and volunteers care for these orphaned wild babies. Baby birds are fed every fifteen minutes so you can imagine how busy this room will get (the baby area can only be viewed from behind glass.)

There is also a large range of British Wildlife goodies available in the Souvenir shop, and an outdoor covered coffee shop.

There is also a young children's play area and picnic site– take a rest while your young ones play in the safe environment of the centre.
